Ocean Meets Rock @ Sunshine Coast, Australia

“I think all art is about control, the encounter between control and uncontrollable.” – Richard Avedon

(Circa Dec 2008) Walking at the coastline of Marochydore, Queensland, I had the opportunity to snap this water smashing against the rocks. Standing close to the edge, I accidentally slipped and almost dropped my gear to the ocean. Fortunately, I was able to recover quickly and had my shoulder grazed instead of smashing my camera LOL! I wanted to take a softer photo or a long exposure shot, but unfortunately I did not have my tripod and even with the VR the shots were very blurry. But I like this one. It tell the picture as it is. An 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 VR AFS DX lens at 22mm with aperture opening of 11 on a D300 Nikon camera.
